Where is a good place to get shells for shellies? I've been looking around and so far all I've been able to find is a few appropriate shells in a mixed package. I'd need to but a LOT of them just to get a dozen or so.
I've found esccargot shells on the web pretty cheap, but they don't have the same look as the tang snails.
Anybody know of where I could find them?

Thanks!

Nice site. Lots of cool shells. $50 minimun order is kinda a deal killer though. I don't need that many shells.

Yeah I said the same thing when I went to that site the 1st time. I still had troubles finding what I wanted though, and they did have exactly what I was looking for. I finally got a couple of people in my club to go in on a group order. That worked out really well. I also did an order on my own, kept what I wanted and sold the rest at auctions and aquabid. I may have some stuff left around here someplace ( I know I have barnacles). What exactly are you looking for?

lovely pets in quincy has two large buckets full of shells.the vast majority
are small and good for juvenile fish.i got a lot of good, small, turbo snail
shells.i think he might just give some away w/ a purchase.
he also carries barnicles that are bagged up in diffrent sizes.most are
4 or so seperate pieces and are about 10-12 bucks.
i have multifaciatus and the females are not fussy about what type of
shell they use.
its worth checking out this store.he has a lot cool stuff.carries sera and
NLS foods.

I look for Turtle first whenever I go to Lovely! When I went in I saw the bucket of shells, and mentioned to Turtle what I was after and what I was using them for. He picked out 2 dozen for me that fairly closely resembled native Tanganyikan shells - THANKS TURTLE!! I picked up some other things that I needed and Steve threw in the shells gratis. - THANKS STEVE!! I know that the shellies aren't particular about their shells, but I'm trying to keep things looking as 'like home' as possible.
Now I've got another problem - but a good one! I've got fry running around. I want to move these guys from the 20 tall to a 20 long that I'm setting up to give them a little more bottom room, but I'm hesitant to move the fry. They're finding lots of micro-life to nibble on and are doing quite well where they are. The new tank will be sterile by comparison. Any thoughts?

Well, if you're looking for "any" thoughts: move the parents?

I found many types of packaged shells at Michaels craft store. For example,I bought a small basket that contained about 25 shells for a
$1.99.Around 6 were a scallop type shell but most of the others were usable for my Neolamprologus Multi's.
There were several green, turbo type shells in various sizes and others types that work well for my fish.
Other packages contained larger shells that would be good for fish like Calvus. They had large and small individual shells for sale too.
I also buy my clay flower pots at Michaels. They have a lot of smaller sized pots good for Dwarf Cichlids.

you can try dollar tree or other dollar stores.

Alternatively you can go to revere beach. It's on the blue line.
