Hey folks,

I just found my unusual killi in a copy of Axelrod's - ID'd as a female A. lineatus - and I'd like to find a few more somewhere. I found her in a batch of gold panchax killis at the local PetsMart in St. Louis.

Are these the same species as the gold panchax, just a different variety? I've found conflicting info on the internet...

Can I keep more than a single pair in my 55, or will they harrass each other to death? I had a male gold panchax that wasn't very forgiving of other killis... Or can I keep more than one female but only one male?

Thanks for any info!

Cheers,
~Khrysti~

That's what I assumed he/she was - alot of the stores call these Golden Wonder killies, you can find more info under that name I think.

I know back when I used to order them for P*tco, we used to get both the "gold" variety and the wild (green barred) variety mixed in many of the orders - you might try checking some of the local P*tco stores
(Avon usually has some GW killies in stock).

Just be sure to quarentine any chain store killie before you put them in the show tank - I know from personal experience that those fish are in multi-tank systems without effective UV sterilizers, and there are alot of funky gunky (i c h y) fish in those systems

Of course, you may also find some of these at Skiptons, Lovely Pet, or Ned's :D

I'm not sure about the compatability part - but I know that our speaker this month is very well versed in killies, and would happily chime in

Thanks Rich!

I will keep my eyes open... and quarantine accordingly. :D
