The Boston Aquarium Society will be holding a "Fish Expo" (swap meet plus fish show and silent auction) on June 12th, in Malden, MA.
Details can be found at :http://bostonaquariumsocietyevents.info/
Short version - a swap meet is kinda like a flea market for fish-geeks -- anybody can setup a vendor table for $30 and sell anything they'd like. Sales are direct between the vendor and the buyers - unlike an auction, there is no % to the club, just the $30 for the table.
admission for non-vendors is $5 per person ($10 per family).
There will be a bowl show as well, and a bowl show entries can be entered into a silent auction as well, if desired.
This should be alot of fun, its very popular in other parts of the country and I'd love to see this become an annual event in New England.
For those of you who are breed alot of fishes, this can be a great way to introduce new people to your stock !
For those of you who have seen cool fishes at auction, but wished you could find out more before
you bid - this is perfect, you can ask the vendor about the fish, etc.
Its new, its improved (its still a work-in-progress)
