We are having our place deleaded and I am thinking about putting the guys outside (on my back porch) in a 65 gallon with 2 250watt heaters and normal filtration. Inside they only have 1 heater but I got an extra for outside.

I would pick up some styrofoam sheets (pretty cheap at homedepot or lowes).
Put one under the tank, and duct tape one on each side. Then place a last one over the top - you'll cut down on heat loss and the resulting on/off cycles of the heaters.

Not a bad idea Rich. I am more worried that the painter will unplug it and forget to plug it back in, I don't think the water will get too cold but I'd like to have filtration
