I've noticed quite a few drilled tanks at the monthly auctions. Is there someone nearby who has experience - is good at - drilling tanks? If so, how much does it cost? Does anyone drill them themselves? How? I've read the things on other forums, such as Boston Reefers, but I'm wondering if anyone in the BAS has done this.
I've got a 55 that I want to setup soon and I have a Tidepool sump that I'd like to use as a filter. The overflow is currently being used on my 125 and I'm not that pleased with it. I'd like to drill the 55 to make the whole sump system much easier. Starting, and maintaining a good syphon on the overflow is a pain.

I think most 55's have tempered glass on the bottom, Ned would know at Uncle Neds, if you give him aa call. You can't drill tempered glass.

My thinking was more in the line of an overflow in the back. IMO drilling the bottom takes up too much tank real estate.

I second the Ned suggestion. I beleive (I could be mistaken though) that he drills his own. Either way, I'm sure he could help.
