Ron has a great way for growing crypts:
- The shoe boxes are put inside large fish bags, a coat hanger is bent to make a support structure to hold the bag up. In some cases this tent is 8-9" high. This increases the humity for the leaves. In the lager containers stretch clear plastic over the top.
- He uses 2 T8 6500K 4" tubes per shelf, on a timer for 11-12 hours
- Substrate is humus soil, but try to stray away from anything with lime. Add peat moss, laterite and oak leaves to the mix, fertilize with a crushed up pond tab.
- Put sand or gravel on top to hold the soil in.
